The engine just needs a spark, it doesn't care what type of plug the spark comes from. Platinum plugs last longer, and deliver a slightly hotter spark, but that's all. Remember this; NO spark plug manufacturer has EVER been able to prove any amount of horsepower gain with their plugs. Despite what some people on the street may claim. Tell them to show you the test results on the internet at the manufacturer's website. They won't be there.

changing the plugs alone wont.you would have to change the standard air filter to a pancake or induction type.also you can change the exhaust to a performance one. an oil and filter change will also help. the list of performance enhancements is endless, dictated only by your budget.
