Changing spark plugs on a 97 Chevy Lumina w/ a 3.1?

Ive heard i can remove the alternator or tilt the engine forward. Which is easier? If tilting the engine is easier, please give in great detail how to do that. If removing the alternator is easier, will that actually give me access the the 3 spark plugs in the back or will this just waste my time?

I usually do it by rocking the engine forward. I personally do it with a ratcheting strap. Just take the front two mounts off and have someone help you rock the motor forward and use the strap to hold it. You can sometimes use one of the mounts to hold the engine forward but I find the stap gives more room. Hope this helps.

Rock it forward like other said. It makes it way easier! Why do you think it will damage stuff, the engine is designed to move allot when under load. All of the stuff under there are designed to be moved back and forth.
Just remove the upper (dog bone) or there might be two, then tilt engine forward like mentioned.
