If you don't, just make sure you don't do any %26quot;welding%26quot; by drop anything near the starter or alternator by making contact between power and ground.

No just be sure to not turn the ignition over with them disconnected because you can send a spark to something that could be damaged by a voltage spike. Hope I have been helpful.

The battery is fine to be left connected, it can do no harm as the ignition will be turned off and the keys removed just in case. Doing that is quicker than disconnecting the battery and the same result.
No but don't leave the ignition switched on; just in case of HT discharge.
