How to change spark plugs and wires on a 1998 Ford Expedition XLT?
With the 4.6L SOHC V8, you change each spark plug wire one by one. There are two coil packs. On each coil pack will be numbers corresponding to the cylinder it fires. The firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. Be sure to use the proper Ford/Motorcraft plugs and wires, even if it costs more. The ones on the passenger bank of cylinders are tricky to access, so take your time.
